Where will I be living?
We have number of student share houses in Western Australia . All our properties are located within close proximity to Curtin University Bentley Campus and facilities like shops. Most importantly, all our properties are walking distance from public transport.
Each student gets their own fully furnished bedroom with a bed, mattress, study table and chair. You will share the common areas including kitchen, bathroom, lounge, dining room and laundry with other housemates. Typically the house is shared between 4 to 6 housemates.
All common areas are furnished including the kitchen and laundry areas. So a typical property will have two fridges, microwave, washing machine, tv, sofa, iron, and kitchen pan and pots.
Who will I be living with?
As a resident of our student share houses you will be living with other Australian and international students who have also been through the same application process that you have.
Who is eligible to live at MyStudentHouse properties?
Students aged 18 and over and enrolled in an Australian educational facility are eligible to apply.
How long can I rent the room for?
Our rooming house agreements are from 3 months to 12 months.
How do I apply for MyStudentHouse accommodation?
You can apply for your room online. Simply browse our available rooms and once you’ve found one you like, click on the Apply Now button to fill in our online application form. Once we receive your application we will be in touch with you during business hours anytime from Monday to Friday with the outcome of your application. We will also arrange a viewing of the room and property with with you
What happens if my application is approved?
You will receive a copy of confirmation letter, house rules and fees policy to sign online and pay your security deposit.
We cannot secure your room until we have your signed rooming agreement and your security deposit, so it’s in your interest to return your agreement asap.
Can I have pets in your accommodation?
No, we do not allow pets in student rooms properties. Unfortunately we are unable to accept bookings for tenants with pets in the share houses.
How do I pay my rent?
Australian Bank Account
If your application is approved you will receive a copy of our house rules, confirmation letter from MyStudentHouse which will have all the details about the payments. This document sets out the dates by which your rent needs to be paid, the preferred method is Direct Debit.
Overseas Student coming to Australia for the first time
If you are arriving from overseas and don’t have an Australian bank account we can take your security deposit and first two weeks of rent by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). You will have 14 days to open an Australian Bank account and set up the Direct Debit payments.
Tip: Many Australian banks allow you to set up an account before you enter the country. So don’t need to carry lot of cash with you!
What is included in the rent?
Unless otherwise stated on your agreement form, in addition to your rental payments you are required to pay an additional $20 Utilities Fee per room per week. This covers the shared cost for internet (ADSL) connection, gas, water bills, a fortnightly cleaner and gardener as required.
Please note electricity usage is not included in the utilities and rental fees, but will be shared between housemates equally.
What is included in my room and the property?
All MyStudentHouse rooms include a bed, wardrobe, study desk , chair and a bin. All our properties are furnished with quality furniture in the common areas and the kitchens are equipped with cooking equipment and dining utensils.
We also provide a quilt, quilt cover, and pillowcase at a cost to you – let us know if you want to arrange them for you.
What additional items do I need to bring?
You will need to bring towels, personal items, clothes, personal computer, books, music, etc and consumables/toiletries including soap, shampoo, etc.
What happens if I damage something?
If you break small items (like mugs, glassware or plates) you are welcome to replace it with the same quality item without being charged a penalty. Fees/penalties can be deducted from the security deposit fund if cleaning is not efficient or there was damage to the property.

What to do if I need to request Maintenance?
Simply go to the Maintenance Request Form available on our website here and submit it. Our Maintenance Coordinator will be in contact with you to make arrangements.
In the event of an emergency repair, contact our office immediately. If it is after hours, please call us at 0413927017.
How many times does the cleaner/gardener come to the property?
The cleaners come fortnightly (every second week) to clean common areas. The gardeners come as required to maintain the garden. Cleaners don’t clean your used dishes – it’s individual housemates responsibility to clean them after use.
